More than 300 years had come and gone, and still the family of Jacob had not been able to build God’s perfect city. They had tried a lot of times and failed just as many. So after 300 years of this, nobody could agree on what would actually work. And so the family of Jacob decided to just let everyone try their very best to do what they thought was right. And they hoped that by trusting each other to do and be good, they’d create more and more goodness. And the goodness they fostered in each of their hearts would spread like a beautiful disease. And eventually, there would be no poverty or crime or hatred. And then the perfect city would just pop into existence.
