Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. (KJV)
This is a story about a man named Jeremiah who lived through the end of the world. Jeremiah was a happy boy born in a little town. And while he was still very young, God spoke to him.
“Jeremiah!” God said, “I have a plan for you. It’s time that you become my prophet. Now go to the city of Jerusalem, and I will tell you what to say.”
“But I’m just a child!” Jeremiah cried.
“You don’t remember me,” God said, “but I’ve known you since before you were born, and I have loved you from the beginning of time. So don’t worry about being a child or young, or inexperienced. You are older than you can imagine. And I know what you’re capable of.”
Jeremiah felt honored. Not everyone gets such a personal and powerful compliment straight from God. And that filled Jeremiah with a lot of confidence. And so he packed a bag and strapped on his sandals, and walk…
