This was an interesting and insightful discussion. However, I have such a different take on responding to those who choose to leave the church. I have had children step away, best friends, others….and I don’t feel sad or mad or fear. I believe everyone has agency that requires our deepest respect. And God asked us to love others. Why do we think we can control or are responsible for another person’s faith journey or eternal path? It doesn’t make sense to me. I trust God. I trust Jesus. I trust eternity. I have no agenda. God knows them. He loves them and they will be okay!!! We are ALL in the circle!
