Exactly! I don't worship Abraham because he was such a righteous man rather I worship the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac because he is not the kind of God that accepts sacrifices made at the expense of others.

I like what you present, but how do you rectify Genesis 22:2 where God DOES ask Abraham to offer up his only son as a ‘burnt offering’? In light of your thesis, WHY would God have given that command?

To teach Abraham and his posterity that he is not the kind of God the accepts sacrifices that are made at the expense of others, and that he will provide the sacrifice.
